Harwich Town Council owns properties to the rear of the former Magistrates Court and leases these out to local community groups who offer a range of activities.
Dovercourt Theatre Group
Dovercourt Theatre Group (DTG) has been an active amateur drama group in the Harwich area since 1974.
They welcome new members who are interested in all aspects of amateur theatre including acting, set design & construction, prop-making, stage management, costumes, sound and lighting.
The group meets most Tuesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm, performing several productions a year with regular social and fund-raising events too.

Harwich Amateur Boxing Club
Formed in 1997, Harwich Amateur Boxing Club has turned out a number of national boxing champions as well as England internationals from its local gym, and has proven to be a highly respected outfit in regional boxing circles.
The volunteer-run club is affiliated to England Boxing and the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs. All coaches are fully qualified as well as safeguarding and first aid trained and hold valid DBS certificates.
The club caters for competitive boxers aged 11years and upwards on Tuesday and Thursday nights 6.30pm-8.15pm and an adults (16+yrs) Boxfit class on Mondays 6.30pm-7.30pm. A junior beginners class is planned for later in the year which will cater for 5-15yrs.

We are Music is a registered charity helping people through popular music, striving to provide for the advancement of young people through music into the music industry, and education through two components:-
We are Music – Get Known For young people between sixteen and twenty five to help them advance their careers by providing :-
- Get Known -A Live performance video to showcase the artist
- Hamford Studio -Studio space to work, develop material, extend their skills
- Support as an Event promoter- providing live gigs and mini-Festivals.
- Development support for young artists providing them with useful information through Industry contacts.
We are Music (WAM) Harwich & Jaywick –
- Supporting young people from nine to eighteen providing regular weekly band sessions, led by Music Leaders, during term times in the Harwich facility and Jaywick Martello Tower.
- Performance opportunities at Gigs.
