Also present: 2 members of the public and 0 members of the press

Mark Stamford thanked Council for their support in relation to application 12/00468/TCA and the decision made by TDC to approve the application without consideration of the submitted recommendations. He also referred to application 12/00504/TCA which had the same outcome. He mentioned that the Harwich Society and Residents’ Association had contacted the owners of the property which contained the trees and had also been passed to the Friends of the Earth for comment. Cllrs Double and Calver confirmed that there is no appeal process as the approval was made by delegated decision and can only appeal to the owners. It was agreed to write to the Head of Planning, copied to the TDC Chief Executive, Planning Portfolio Holder and the Pier Hotel to raise concern that public opinion has been ignored and request that anything that can be done, to overturn the decision, is done.

P009/12 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
RESOLVED that the minutes of the Town Planning meeting held on 23rd May 2012 (previously circulated) be approved by the Committee and signed by the Chairman as a true record.

P010/12 MATTERS ARISING FROM MINUTES

• The determination of a recently-considered planning application, as discussed during public questions, was referred to.
• The Clerk provided confirmation that no further comments were necessary for Planning application 12/00784/FUL as there were no amendments to that aspect of the application.

P011/12 PLANNING APPLICATIONS
There were no planning applications to consider for weeks ending 25th May and 1st June 2012.

P012/12 DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next Town Planning meeting will be held at the 1912 Centre, Cow Lane, Harwich, on 27th June 2012 at 6.30pm.

The Chairman closed the meeting at 6.40pm
