MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF HARWICH TOWN COUNCIL PLANNING COMMITTEE
HELD ON 11th AUGUST 2010 at 6.30pm

A one minute silence was observed in memory of Mr Ian Stirling who tragically died at the recent Powerboat Festival held at Harwich.
P15/10 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors S Henderson, B Howlett, M Gardner and L Payne.
P16/10 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS
Councillors J Brown, McLeod and Rutson declared they are members of Tendring District Council’s Development and Control Committee. Councillor J Brown declared a personal interest in Application 10/8815/FUL. Councillors Calver, Double and Morrison declared a personal interest in Application No. 10/00850/FUL.
P17/10 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
RESOLVED: that the minutes of the meeting held on 21st July 2010 (previously circulated) be approved by the Chairman and signed as a true record.
P18/10 PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Committee considered a schedule of planning applications for weeks ending 16th July, 23rd July and 30th July 2010.
RESOLVED: that the recommendations of Appendix ‘A’ are submitted to Tendring District Council. The Committee raised no objections to Planning Application No.09/0317/FUL which was deferred from the last meeting held on 21st July 2010.
P19/10 APPLICATION NO. 10/00701/FUL – WHITE HORSE PUBLIC HOUSE
The Committee noted a letter of objection received from All Saints’ Church of England Primary School of the demolition and construction of 14 dwellings on the White Horse Public House site
P20/10 ENFORCEMENT APPEAL BY BARNADOS, 134 HIGH STREET
The Committee noted a letter from Tending District council regarding an enforcement appeal by Barnados, 134 High Street, Dovercourt.
P21/10 APPLICATION NO. 10/00912/FUL – DOVERCOURT HIGH STREET, WEEKLY MARKET
The Committee discussed the application received today from Tendring District Council for the operation of a weekly market on Dovercourt High Street and RESOLVED: to contact the Planning Department to request; (a) an extension on the deadline, (b) the extension be granted, and if so (c) that a Tendring District Planning Officer be invited to attend an extraordinary meeting to clarify the traffic implications.
P22/10 HOSPITAL LANE – FENCING
Councillor McLeod informed members that the ground has been prepared at the old hospital site but has revealed the poor condition of the fencing in Hospital Lane, Dovercourt
P23/10 DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the Town Planning Committee will be held at 6.30pm on 1st September 2010 at the 1912 Centre, Cow Lane, Harwich.
The Chairman closed the meeting at 7.20pm
