P15/09 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors McLeod, Gardner, J Brown, Burke, Callender and Howlett.
P16/09 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS
Councillors Henderson declared a personal interest in application 09/00502/FUL.
P17/09 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
RESOLVED: that the minutes of the meeting held on 24th June 2009 (previously circulated) be approved by the Chairman and signed as a true record.
P18/09 POUND FARM, 438 MAIN ROAD, HARWICH
Ref. minute P13/09, members noted the response from Tendring District Council giving details of recent inspections of the Grade II listed building at Pound Farm. The District Authority will continue to monitor the situation and, if necessary, carry out a further inspection later in the year. RESOLVED: to request that Tendring District Council informs Harwich Town Council of any monitoring or inspections that are carried out in the future.
P19/09 APPLICATION 09/00502/FUL – 664 MAIN ROAD, DOVERCOURT, HARWICH: CHANGE OF USE OF LAND
Members were advised that Tendring District Council is unable to provide further details at present but that the matter will be referred to Committee, therefore allowing time, before a decision is made, for this Council to comment. RESOLVED: to seek reassurance from the District Authority that Harwich Town Council will have the requested information and, therefore, the opportunity to meet and discuss the matter before it goes to Development and Control Committee.
P20/09 NEW SHOP FRONT, HIGH STREET, DOVERCOURT
A member raised concerns that a new shop front in Dovercourt High Street it is not in keeping with the street-scene in the Conversation Area. RESOLVED: to ask the District Council if this is “permitted development”.
P21/09 PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Committee considered a schedule of planning applications for weeks ending 19th June, 26th June and 3rd July 2009. RESOLVED: that the recommendations of Appendix ‘A’ are submitted to Tendring District Council.
P22/09 APPLICATIO 09/00322/FUL – 673 MAIN ROAD, HARWICH
TWO-STOREY SIDE EXTENSION
The Committee noted that an appeal has been lodged against refusal of application 09/00322/FUL.
P23/09 TOWN AND PARISH COUNCILS SURVEY CONSULTATION ON PLANNING MATTERS
Members noted the request from Tendring District Council for a response to its survey regarding the Planning Service. RESOLVED: to circulate the information to all members and consider the matter at the next meeting of this Committee.
P24/09 DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the Town Planning Committee will be held at 6.30pm on 5th August 2009 at The 1912 Centre, Harwich.
The Chairman closed the meeting at 6.55pm
