Important Roadworks Information

A120 between Horsley Cross Roundabout and Crown Interchange: resurfacing

This is to inform you that Highways England be carrying out essential resurfacing works between the above locations. During this work, we’ll also be renewing faded road markings and replacing road studs.

We plan to complete this work over three weeks from Monday 5 October to Friday 23 October, on weeknights only, working between the hours of 8pm to 6am, subject to weather conditions.

To minimise the impact of these works, we have split the works into two phases. We have liaised with the local authorities to agree the most suitable diversion routes for each phase.

Phase 1 closures:

A120 westbound will be closed between the Horsley Cross Roundabout and Crown Interchange from Monday 5 October to Friday 9 October and Monday 19 October to Thursday 22 October.

Westbound traffic will be diverted off the A120 at the Horsley Cross Roundabout via the B1035, B1033 Colchester Road, A133 Main Road, Clacton Road, St Andrews Avenue and onto the A1232 Ipswich Road to re-join the A120 at Crown Interchange. (Diagram 1)

 Phase 2 closures:

A120 / A133 eastbound exit slip will be closed weeknights between Monday 5 October and Wednesday 21 October.

Eastbound traffic wanting to leave the A120 at Hare Green will continue along the A120 to the Horsley Cross Roundabout and travel along the B1035, B1033 Colchester Road and onto the A133. (Diagram 2)

 A120 / A133 westbound entry slip will be closed weeknights between Friday 16 October and Friday 23 October.

Traffic wanting to join the A120 westbound at Hare Green will travel the same diversion as set out above but in reverse. (Diagram 2)
