Final reminder to residents of council services over festive period
A reminder is being given to residents of Tendring District Council’s (TDC) revised operations during the festive period.
Urgent issues will be dealt with as usual over the Christmas and New Year break as most frontline services will be maintained for residents.
TDC’s virtual offices will close from 4pm on Thursday, 24 December, reopening from 9am on Monday, January 4, 2021.
In an emergency residents can contact the council’s Control Centre on 01255 222022, available 24/7.
There are also changes to waste and recycling collection days during the period, with no collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day (or bank holiday).
Neil Stock OBE, TDC Leader, wished residents in the district a merry Christmas.
“We hope that everyone enjoys the festive period,” Cllr Stock said.
“We have all had a really difficult and challenging year and Christmas is a good time to reflect on all that has happened and to look forward with hope and optimism to the New Year. I wish everyone a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas this year, despite the restrictions, with the anticipation that we can return to full-scale celebrations sometime soon.
“Though there are some changes to services, our core operations still run and the Control Centre is ready to swing into action if there is an emergency during the festive break.”
People can find updated information on their waste collection days and council office opening times on the council’s Christmas services web page, which has full details of seasonal changes to services across the authority: https://www.tendringdc.gov.uk/council/christmas-and-new-year-services-and-opening-times
